Once we looked looked beyond the optimum usage of space (that being the only positive aspect) we found ourselves having to deal with the strong smell of tobacco, mini sized bathroom and limited breakfast which is incidentally charged extra!!! The Buffalo Grill is across the street so we managed a decent meal. I would not recommend this hotel.

This is a little outside Annecy, but is quite handy for the main road, and there are some facilities nearby (a Buffalo Grill is close). The hotel is basic, but acceptable. The room was quite small. Breakfast was very limited, and the Premiere Classe chain doesn't offer as good a deal as Etap, but is worth having if there are no breakfast places near by (in this case there aren't). As you are largely confined to bread and jam and very cheap cereal, with a basic hot drink, you might consider buying breakfast supplies and eating in your own room.

Awful - Stay Away!

We had booked for 3 nights for a family of 4. We had stayed at a couple of B&B Hotels which we had been happy with and expected a similar experience - how wrong we were!

We arrived around 2pm on a rainy, cold day and tried to use the self service check-in (reception doesn't open til 5) and had no end of problems. We received a 10 digit code with our email confirmation but the machine only accepted a 6 digit code. We managed to figure it out but it then wouldn't accept our credit card after many tries. We found some people inside doing some maintenance and one man, who turned out to be the manager, said he would call the person in charge. Well, she came down furious at having been disturbed and started ranting and raving at us! She marched us over to the machine and rudely demanded our credit card (she treated us like idiots who just didn't know how to use the machine). When she found out it was a machine malfunction she didn't even apologise (her ranting took place in front of our 2 young sons who found it upsetting).

Should have left then and there but we were tired and weather was bad. We lugged our bags up 2 flights of stairs (no lift) and entered a small, dark room stinking of cigarette smoke (meant to be a non smoking room) and the bed covers had a dirty, greasy feel to them. The bathroom was dirty with mould inside the toilet bowl and a poo smear on the seat!

We went to a nearby Subway, used their free wi-fi to find other accommodation then returned to collect our bags and get a refund. The rude woman wouldn't refund the money onto our credit card but insisted on giving us a cheque. Now that we are home, it is going to cost us bank fees and take 30 working days to clear. So we don't yet know if we will in fact get our money back.

Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else.
